Article R1423-11 of the French Labour Code

The election of the chairmen and vice-chairmen is held by secret ballot, per assembly and by an absolute majority of the members present.
It takes place either when at least three-quarters of the members of each assembly are seated, or if the provisions of article R. 1423-1 are applied in a section, when at least two-thirds of the members of each assembly are seated.

L’élection des présidents et vice-présidents a lieu au scrutin secret, par assemblée et à la majorité absolue des membres présents.
Elle a lieu soit lorsque les trois-quarts au moins des membres de chaque assemblée sont installés, soit en cas d’application dans une section des dispositions de l’article R. 1423-1, lorsque les deux tiers au moins des membres de chaque assemblée sont installés.
