Article R1424-16 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

In application of article L. 1424-29, the board of directors settles, through its deliberations, matters relating to the administration of the departmental or territorial fire and rescue service.

It sets its own rules of procedure, on a proposal from its chairman. These rules specify the general rules for the organisation and operation of the council.

It meets when convened by its chairman. It may only validly deliberate when the majority of its members in office are present.

The prefect may be represented at meetings of the board of directors by a member of the prefectoral corps or by the director of cabinet services.

The establishment’s accountant attends meetings.

A member present may only have one proxy.

En application de l’article L. 1424-29, le conseil d’administration règle, par ses délibérations, les affaires relatives à l’administration du service départemental ou territorial d’incendie et de secours.

Il fixe son règlement intérieur, sur proposition de son président. Ce règlement précise les règles générales d’organisation et de fonctionnement du conseil.

Il se réunit sur convocation de son président. Il ne peut valablement délibérer que lorsque la majorité de ses membres en exercice est présente.

Le préfet peut se faire représenter aux séances du conseil d’administration par un membre du corps préfectoral ou par le directeur des services du cabinet.

Le comptable de l’établissement assiste aux séances.

Un membre présent ne peut disposer que d’une seule procuration.
