Article R2334-3 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

The amount of the reduction or increase mentioned in the first paragraph of III of article L. 2334-7 is equal for each commune to the product of the difference between its population recorded in respect of the year of allocation and that recorded in respect of the year preceding the allocation by an amount of €64.46 and by a coefficient a, the value of which varies according to population under the following conditions:

1° If the population is less than or equal to 500, a = 1;

2° If the population is greater than 500 and less than 200,000, a = 1 + 0.38431089 x log (population/500);

3° If the population is equal to or greater than 200,000, a = 2.

The population taken into account is determined in accordance with Article L. 2334-2.

These provisions are applicable to the communes of New Caledonia, French Polynesia, Mayotte, Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon and the territorial divisions of the Wallis and Futuna Islands.

Le montant de la minoration ou de la majoration mentionné au premier alinéa du III de l’article L. 2334-7 est égal pour chaque commune au produit de la différence entre sa population constatée au titre de l’année de répartition et celle constatée au titre de l’année précédant la répartition par un montant de 64,46 € et par un coefficient a, dont la valeur varie en fonction de la population dans les conditions suivantes :

1° Si la population est inférieure ou égale à 500 habitants, a = 1 ;

2° Si la population est supérieure à 500 habitants et inférieure à 200 000 habitants, a = 1 + 0,38431089 x log (population/500) ;

3° Si la population est égale ou supérieure à 200 000 habitants, a = 2.

La population prise en compte est déterminée en application de l’article L. 2334-2.

Ces dispositions sont applicables aux communes de la Nouvelle-Calédonie, de la Polynésie française, de Mayotte, de Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon et aux circonscriptions territoriales des îles Wallis et Futuna.
