Article R312-4 of the French Consumer Code

In the case of a credit agreement under which the instalments do not immediately result in a corresponding amortisation of the total amount of credit, but serve to reconstitute the capital at the periods and under the conditions laid down in the credit agreement or in an ancillary agreement, the pre-contractual information shall state that this method of performance does not guarantee repayment of the total amount of credit granted, unless such a guarantee is given.

Dans le cas d’un contrat de crédit en vertu duquel les échéances n’entraînent pas immédiatement un amortissement correspondant du montant total du crédit, mais servent à reconstituer le capital aux périodes et dans les conditions prévues par le contrat de crédit ou par un contrat accessoire, l’information précontractuelle indique que cette modalité d’exécution ne garantit pas le remboursement du montant total du crédit consenti, sauf si une telle garantie est donnée.
