Article R421-19 of the French Insurance Code

Compensation for damage to property by the guarantee fund may not exceed, per claim, the sum set by order of the Minister for the Economy.

When a road traffic accident is caused by an animal that has been identified but has no owner, the compensation for damage to property by the guarantee fund, referred to in d of 2 of II of article L. 421-1, is subject to a deduction of 500 euros per vehicle.

L’indemnisation des dommages aux biens par le fonds de garantie ne peut excéder par sinistre la somme fixée par arrêté du ministre chargé de l’économie.

Lorsque l’accident de la circulation est causé par un animal identifié mais sans propriétaire, l’indemnisation des dommages aux biens par le fonds de garantie, mentionnée au d du 2 du II de l’article L. 421-1, supporte un abattement de 500 euros par véhicule.
