Article R421-21 of the French Insurance Code

Compensation payable under the provisions of Article L. 421-8 of the Insurance Code to victims of accidents which give rise to personal injury or to their dependants shall be paid by the guarantee fund in accordance with the provisions of this section and on condition that the accidents occurred in mainland France and the overseas departments, with the exception of the department of French Guiana.

Les indemnités dues en vertu des dispositions de l’article L. 421-8 du code des assurances aux victimes d’accidents qui donnent naissance à des dommages résultant d’une atteinte à la personne ou à leurs ayants droit sont prises en charge par le fonds de garantie conformément aux dispositions de la présente section et à la condition que ces accidents soient survenus sur le territoire de la France métropolitaine et des départements d’outre-mer, à l’exception du département de la Guyane.
