Article R441-1 of the French Insurance Code

Insurance undertakings authorised to transact business involving commitments the performance of which depends on the duration of human life may only transact the business referred to in Article L. 441-1 in accordance with the provisions of this chapter.

Les entreprises d’assurance qui sont habilitées à réaliser des opérations comportant des engagements dont l’exécution dépend de la durée de la vie humaine, ne peuvent réaliser les opérations prévues à l’article L. 441-1 qu’en se conformant aux dispositions du présent chapitre.
