Article R4432-12 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

The term of office of a member of the regional economic, social and environmental council or the council for culture, education and the environment who loses the capacity by virtue of which he or she was appointed or who is deprived of the right to vote expires automatically.

The resignation of a member of the regional economic, social and environmental council or the council for culture, education and the environment takes effect from the date of its receipt by the president of the council, who immediately notifies the president of the regional council and the regional prefect.

Any member of the regional economic, social and environmental council or of the council for culture, education and the environment whose repeated and unjustified absence has been noted over a period of one year by the bureau of the said council may be declared, on the proposal of the bureau, to have automatically resigned by the prefect.

Expire de droit le mandat du membre du conseil économique, social et environnemental régional ou du conseil de la culture, de l’éducation et de l’environnement qui perd la qualité en vertu de laquelle il a été désigné ou qui se trouve privé du droit électoral.

La démission d’un membre du conseil économique, social et environnemental régional ou du conseil de la culture, de l’éducation et de l’environnement prend effet à compter de sa réception par le président du conseil, qui en avise immédiatement le président du conseil régional et le préfet de région.

Tout membre du conseil économique, social et environnemental régional ou du conseil de la culture, de l’éducation et de l’environnement dont l’absence répétée et non motivée aura été constatée au cours d’une période d’un an par le bureau dudit conseil pourra être déclaré, sur proposition du bureau, démissionnaire d’office par le préfet.
