Article R5425-20 of the French Labour Code

Tasks of general interest are deemed to be those which, on the proposal of a public authority or a private not-for-profit organisation, have been approved by the prefect of the département in which the public authority or the head office of the organisation concerned is located.
The decision sets the duration of the approval and the conditions under which the general interest tasks covered by the approval are carried out.

Article R5425-20

Sont réputées tâches d’intérêt général les tâches qui, sur proposition d’une collectivité publique ou d’un organisme privé à but non lucratif, ont fait l’objet d’un agrément par le préfet du département dans le ressort duquel se trouve la collectivité publique ou le siège de l’organisme intéressé.
La décision fixe la durée de l’agrément ainsi que les conditions dans lesquelles sont accomplies les tâches d’intérêt général qui font l’objet de cet agrément.
