Article R581-13 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

A beneficiary of temporary protection in France may apply to join a family member who is benefiting from temporary protection in another Member State of the European Union. The prefect of the département and, in Paris, the prefect of the police then notifies the competent authorities of that State in writing with a view to transferring the person concerned to the territory of that State.

Un bénéficiaire de la protection temporaire en France peut demander à rejoindre un membre de sa famille qui bénéficie de la protection temporaire dans un autre Etat membre de l’Union européenne. Le préfet de département et, à Paris, le préfet de police saisit alors par écrit les autorités compétentes de cet Etat en vue du transfert de l’intéressé vers le territoire de cet Etat.
