Article R6122-3 of the French Public Health Code

The Committee is chaired either by a Councillor of State appointed by the Ministers for Social Action, Health and Social Security on the recommendation of the Vice-President of the Council of State, or by a Senior Advisor to the Court of Auditors appointed by the same Ministers on the recommendation of the First President of the Court of Auditors.

The Chairman is replaced by a Conseiller d’Etat or a Conseiller Maître at the Cour des Comptes, appointed under the same conditions.

The term of office of the chairman and deputy chairman is five years. They may be reappointed.

Le comité est présidé soit par un conseiller d’Etat désigné par les ministres chargés de l’action sociale, de la santé et de la sécurité sociale sur proposition du vice-président du Conseil d’Etat, soit par un conseiller maître à la Cour des comptes désigné par les mêmes ministres sur proposition du premier président de la Cour des comptes.

Le président est suppléé par un conseiller d’Etat ou par un conseiller maître à la Cour des comptes, désigné dans les mêmes conditions.

Le mandat du président et de son suppléant est de cinq ans. Il est renouvelable.
