In order to be authorised for “care without consent” and to take charge of adults in care without consent, the holder must be authorised for “adult psychiatry”.
In order to be authorised for “care without consent” and to take charge of children and adolescents in care without consent, the holder must be authorised for “child and adolescent psychiatry”.
Exceptionally, a minor over the age of sixteen may be cared for by a holder of both the “care without consent” and “adult psychiatry” authorisations. The holder must have an agreement with a holder of the “child and adolescent psychiatry” qualification, setting out the arrangements for the patient’s care and transfer.
