The surgical care activity mentioned in 2° of article R. 6122-25 consists of the diagnostic or therapeutic management of patients requiring or likely to require an invasive or minimally invasive interventional procedure carried out in an interventional sector, regardless of the approach and the implementation of continuity of care, with the exception of procedures covered by the activities mentioned in 8°, 9°, 10°, 11°, 12°, 13° and 21° of the same article.
This activity requires an environment adapted to the complexity and level of risk of the procedure, as well as to the type of patients being cared for. Surgical care is part of comprehensive patient management. It also includes preventive and health education activities.
Holders of the authorisation referred to in 3° of article R. 6122-25 are not subject to authorisation for surgery when they perform abdomino-pelvic surgical procedures related to pregnancy or childbirth referred to in 2° of article R. 6123-40.
