The holder of the radiotherapy authorisation has the following facilities on the site:
1° A radiotherapy unit with radiotherapy equipment used for the external radiotherapy or brachytherapy treatment of patients, and where appropriate the preparation of these treatments. The unit also contains consultation rooms;
2° A technical imaging platform enabling radiotherapy treatment to be prepared and monitored by the dedicated care team. This imaging centre has at least one dedicated scanner.
The imaging centre for the preparation of radiotherapy treatments may be located in the radiotherapy unit or on a shared centre with the imaging care activity that the licensee has on its own site or under an agreement.
When the preparation of radiotherapy treatments requires multimodal imaging to define target volumes by contouring, the authorisation holder has an organisation to allow patients access to a magnetic resonance imaging or positron emission tomography examination. This organisation may be its own on the site in compliance with the provisions of the previous paragraph or, where applicable, implemented on another site as part of a cooperation with other health establishments holding an authorisation for the heavy medical equipment concerned. This organisation of access to the magnetic resonance imaging or positron emission tomography examination is based on a pre-established protocol with the radiology or nuclear medicine teams concerned.
