Article 411-55 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

For each work in the programme, the production company has :
1° A period of two years from the date of the first payment for the financing of its production to apply for or obtain a cinematographic release licence and to provide the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée with proof of the production of the work and the expenditure incurred;
2° A period of one year from the date of the payment for the financing of its development to provide the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée with the finalised version of the project, together with proof of the expenditure incurred.
If the work or project is not submitted or, where applicable, if proof of expenditure is not provided, or if these deadlines are not met, the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée may ask for all or part of the aid granted to be repaid.
In exceptional circumstances and at the reasoned request of the production company, particularly in view of production or development conditions, these deadlines may be extended for a period not exceeding one year by decision of the President of the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée.

Article 411-55

L’entreprise de production dispose, pour chaque œuvre du programme :
1° D’un délai de deux ans à compter du premier versement pour le financement de sa production pour demander ou obtenir le visa d’exploitation cinématographique et pour remettre au Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée la justification de la production de l’œuvre et des dépenses effectuées ;
2° D’un délai d’un an à compter du versement pour le financement de son développement pour remettre au Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animé la version finalisée du projet, ainsi que les justificatifs des dépenses effectuées.
A défaut de remise de l’œuvre ou du projet ou, le cas échéant, de remise des justificatifs des dépenses effectuées, ou en cas de non-respect de ces délais, le Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée peut demander le reversement de tout ou partie de l’aide attribuée.
A titre exceptionnel et sur demande motivée de l’entreprise de production, compte tenu notamment des conditions de production ou de développement, ces délais peuvent être prolongés d’une durée qui ne peut excéder un an par décision du président du Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée.
