Article 721-20 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

The sums referred to in article 721-16 are entered in the automatic account for promotion abroad during the first half of each year.
For each year, these sums are entered in the automatic account for promotion abroad using the following formula:

– if B > A then C = (A-B)/B;
– if B ≤ A then C = 0;
– D = B × (1+C).

In this formula :

– A is the amount of credits available for the year in question in respect of aid for the promotion abroad of cinematographic works allocated for calculation on the basis of making available to the public on subscription on-demand audiovisual media services;
– B is the amount of the sums calculated without applying this formula;
– C is the coefficient to be applied for calculating D;
– D is the amount of the sums entered in the automatic promotion abroad accounts, after applying the coefficient C to the amount B.

Article 721-20

Les sommes mentionnées à l’article 721-16 sont inscrites sur le compte automatique promotion à l’étranger au cours du premier semestre de chaque année.
Pour chaque année, ces sommes sont inscrites sur le compte automatique promotion à l’étranger en faisant application de la formule suivante :

– si B > A alors C = (A-B)/B ;
– si B ≤ A alors C = 0 ;
– D = B × (1+C).

Dans cette formule :

– A est le montant de crédits disponibles pour l’année considérée au titre des aides à la promotion à l’étranger des œuvres cinématographiques affectés au calcul à raison de la mise à disposition du public sur les services de médias audiovisuels à la demande par abonnement ;
– B est le montant des sommes calculées sans faire application de la présente formule ;
– C est le coefficient à appliquer pour le calcul de D ;
– D est le montant des sommes inscrites sur les comptes automatiques promotion à l’étranger, après application du coefficient C au montant B.
