Financial assistance for the foreign distribution of works representative of world cinema is reserved for companies that :
1° Provide proof of assignment of rights or marketing mandates, or any contractual document attesting to the intention to conclude such assignments or mandates, for the future foreign exploitation of a work meeting the following conditions:
a) It must have been co-produced with at least one co-producer established in a State not participating in the “MEDIA” sub-programme;
b) The co-producer(s) established in a State participating in the “MEDIA” sub-programme must hold between 20% and 70% of the co-production shares;
2° They must develop a strategy to ensure effective distribution of the work:
a) In at least three territories, with the exception of France, with a maximum of six territories being taken into account to qualify for support. Distribution of the works in these territories must not have given rise to the award of equivalent aid from another fund receiving support from the “MEDIA” sub-programme;
b) For one or more modes of exploitation, including at least one online broadcast by a publisher of on-demand audiovisual media services in at least one of the territories mentioned in a;
c) With the assistance of partner companies operating in the territories mentioned in a or with experience in the field of distribution. A maximum of six companies are eligible for support.
