Selective financial aid is awarded to support the distribution abroad of feature-length cinematographic works that are representative of the world’s cinematographies.
The granting of aid for the foreign distribution of works representative of world cinematography is subject to the provisions of Commission Regulation (EU) No 651/2014 of 17 June 2014 declaring certain categories of aid compatible with the internal market in application of Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty, in particular those provided for in Chapter I and Article 54 of Section 11 relating to aid schemes for audiovisual works.
Financial aid for the distribution abroad of works representative of world cinematography is awarded to companies established on the territory of a State participating in the “MEDIA” sub-programme of the “Creative Europe” programme, provided for in Regulation (EU) No 2021/818 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 May 2021 establishing the “Creative Europe” programme (2021 to 2027).
Financial assistance for the foreign distribution of works representative of world cinema is reserved for companies that : 1° Provide proof of assignment of rights or marketing mandates, or any contractual document attesting to the intention to conclude such assignments or mandates, for the future foreign exploitation of a work meeting the following conditions: a) It must have been co-produced with at least one co-producer established in a State not…

The decision to award a grant is taken on the advice of the Commission des aides à la distribution internationale des cinémas du monde.
