Aid may not exceed 50% of distribution costs. However, this rate is increased to 80% for difficult or low-budget works.
A difficult work is one that meets one of the following conditions:
1° It is a director’s first or second work;
2° It is co-produced with one or more production companies established in sub-Saharan African countries, least developed countries as defined by the United Nations, countries in the priority solidarity zone defined by the Interministerial Committee for International Cooperation and Development, or in countries on the list appended to this book.
A low-budget work is one whose production budget is less than or equal to €1,250,000.
The amount of aid may not exceed €60,000 per work.
