Article 990 of the French Code of civil procedure

Where a statement of case is produced by the plaintiff, the Registrar of the Court of Cassation shall without delay notify a copy to the defendant by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt.

Lorsqu’un mémoire est produit par le demandeur, le greffier de la Cour de cassation en notifie sans délai une copie au défendeur par lettre recommandée avec demande d’avis de réception.
