Article A131-1 of the French Insurance Code

Where the contracting party or beneficiary chooses cash settlement, the sum paid in accordance with the contract is equal to the foreign currency equivalent of the units of account, based on the surrender or realisation value of these securities on the date stipulated for this purpose in the contract.

This date may not be more than thirty days after the date on which the claim for benefit is submitted to the insurer.

Lorsque le contractant ou le bénéficiaire choisit le règlement en espèces, la somme versée selon les dispositions contractuelles est égale à la contrevaleur en devises des unités de compte, sur la base de la valeur de rachat ou de réalisation de ces titres à la date prévue à cet effet par le contrat.

Cette date ne peut être postérieure de plus de trente jours à la date de présentation à l’assureur de la demande de prestation.
