Participants are equipped with:
1° Personal buoyancy equipment with the following characteristics:
a) Performance level of at least 50N;
b) 50N performance level with increased buoyancy for people weighing less than 25 kg or for those using an inflatable river boat from class III, assessed in accordance with the table below:
Parameters | Children | Adults | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Mass
of the user, m (kg) |
m ≤ 15 | 15 < m ≤ 30 | 30 < m ≤ 40 | 40 < m ≤ 50 | 50 < m ≤ 60 | 60 < m ≤ 70 | m > 70 |
Minimum buoyancy (N) | 30 | 40 | 50 | 60 | 70 | 80 | 100 |
Inflatable and hybrid personal flotation devices are prohibited.
2° Closed shoes;
3° For river activities of class III and above, a protective helmet to ensure safety. Compliance with standard NF EN 1385: 2012 is presumed to satisfy this requirement;
4° Protective clothing suited to current conditions.
For supervised activities on calm water or at sea, the supervisor may make the wearing of this equipment optional when conditions allow.
Whatever the circumstances, with the exception of boats that do not allow it, personal buoyancy equipment must be within the participant’s reach.
White water swimmers always wear a reinforced full wetsuit and isothermal booties.
