Supervision takes place from or near a suitable boat.
The supervisor must be equipped with:
1° Personal buoyancy equipment with a performance level of at least 50N;
2° Closed shoes;
3° For river activities of class III and above, a protective helmet guaranteeing safety. Compliance with standard NF EN 1385: 2012 is presumed to satisfy this requirement;
4° Protective clothing suited to the current conditions.
Whatever the circumstances, with the exception of boats that do not allow it, personal buoyancy equipment must be within easy reach.
White water swimming instructors always wear a full wetsuit and isothermal booties.
The supervisor must have at least :
-for activities organised at sea, a towing line ;
-for river activities, from class III upwards, a floating safety rope, a releasable towing system and a knife;
-for activities organised in rivers, class III and above, with inflatable boats, a floating safety rope, a releasable towing system or a righting lanyard, and a knife.
