Article D553-16 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

When the asylum seeker is joined by a family member who has reached the age of majority after filing his/her application for the allowance, the family member is taken into account in calculating the allowance if he/she was declared by the applicant when the application was registered. The amount of the allowance paid to the family is revised from the date on which the family member who has joined the asylum seeker is registered by the Office français de l’immigration et de l’intégration.

Lorsque le demandeur d’asile est rejoint, postérieurement au dépôt de sa demande d’allocation, par un membre de famille qui est majeur, ce dernier est pris en compte dans le calcul de l’allocation s’il a été déclaré par le demandeur lors de l’enregistrement cette demande.
Lorsque le membre de famille qui le rejoint est mineur, cette prise en compte est de droit.
Le montant de l’allocation versé à la famille est révisé à compter de la date d’enregistrement par l’Office français de l’immigration et de l’intégration du membre de famille ayant rejoint le demandeur d’asile.
