Article L133-1 of the French Tourism Code

By resolution of the municipal council, a municipality may set up a body responsible for promoting tourism, known as a tourist office, under the conditions set out in articles L. 133-2 to L. 133-10 of this code.

Where several protected territorial brands, distinct by their location, name or management method, coexist on the territory of the same municipality or the same public establishment for inter-municipal cooperation with its own tax status, the municipality is authorised to create a tourist office for each of the sites with a protected territorial brand.

Article L133-1

Une commune peut, par délibération du conseil municipal, instituer un organisme chargé de la promotion du tourisme, dénommé office de tourisme, dans les conditions prévues aux articles L. 133-2 à L. 133-10 du présent code.

Lorsque coexistent sur le territoire d’une même commune ou d’un même établissement public de coopération intercommunale à fiscalité propre plusieurs marques territoriales protégées distinctes par leur situation, leur appellation ou leur mode de gestion, la commune est autorisée à créer un office de tourisme pour chacun des sites disposant d’une marque territoriale protégée.
