The centres of expertise for aeronautical medicine and the medical examiners issue, for flight personnel, after examination, the medical certificates required to carry out the functions corresponding to the aeronautical titles.
To this end, for licences falling within the remit of the Minister responsible for civil aviation, they must be approved by the Minister responsible for civil aviation under conditions laid down by decree. These conditions relate in particular to the specific equipment used and the training in aeronautical medicine of the medical staff.
If an appeal is lodged with the Civil Aviation Medical Council by the Minister responsible for civil aviation, the person concerned or the employer, following decisions taken by the aeronautical medical centres and the medical examiners, it will decide on the fitness of the flight personnel.
