Article L521-16 of the French Consumer Code

If it is established that a product has been placed on the market without having been the subject of the authorisation, registration or declaration required by the regulations applicable to that product, the administrative authority may order by decree the suspension of its placing on the market and its withdrawal until it has been brought into compliance with the regulations in force.

Article L521-16

S’il est établi qu’un produit a été mis sur le marché sans avoir été l’objet de l’autorisation, de l’enregistrement ou de la déclaration exigé par la réglementation applicable à ce produit, l’autorité administrative peut ordonner par arrêté la suspension de sa mise sur le marché et son retrait jusqu’à la mise en conformité avec la réglementation en vigueur.
