Article L7124-11 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

The purpose of the Grand Customary Council of the Amerindian and Bushinengean populations is to ensure the representation of the Amerindian and Bushinengean populations of French Guiana and to defend their legal, economic, social, cultural, educational and environmental interests.

It is placed under the State representative in the territorial collectivity of French Guiana.

Le grand conseil coutumier des populations amérindiennes et bushinenges a pour objet d’assurer la représentation des populations amérindiennes et bushinenges de Guyane et de défendre leurs intérêts juridiques, économiques, sociaux, culturels, éducatifs et environnementaux.

Il est placé auprès du représentant de l’Etat dans la collectivité territoriale de Guyane.
