The Grand Customary Council of the Amerindian and Bushinenge populations is composed of:
1° Six representatives of the Amerindian customary and traditional authorities designated by their peers;
2° Six representatives of the Bushinenge customary and traditional authorities designated by their peers;
3° Two representatives designated by the bodies and associations representing the Amerindian populations;
4° Two representatives designated by the bodies and associations representing the Bushinenge populations;
5° Two qualified personalities designated by order of the minister responsible for overseas France.
The Grand Customary Council elects from among its members, by secret ballot, a bureau, under the conditions laid down in its internal regulations. The members of the bureau, comprising a president, two vice-presidents and a secretary, are elected for half the term of office of the members of the council and may be re-elected.
