Article L732-8 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

A decision to place a person under house arrest taken pursuant to 1°, 2°, 3°, 4° or 5° of article L. 731-1 may be challenged before the president of the administrative court within forty-eight hours of notification. The forty-eight hour time limit provided for in the first paragraph also applies to challenges to the decision to place the person under house arrest notified after the removal decision, even if the legality of the latter has been confirmed by the administrative court or can no longer be challenged.
The provisions of articles L. 614-7 to L. 614-13 are applicable to the judgment of the decision to assign a person to residence challenged pursuant to this article.

Article L732-8

La décision d’assignation à résidence prise en application des 1°, 2°, 3°, 4° ou 5° de l’article L. 731-1 peut être contestée devant le président du tribunal administratif dans le délai de quarante-huit heures suivant sa notification. Elle peut être contestée dans le même recours que la décision d’éloignement qu’elle accompagne.
Le délai de quarante-huit heures prévu au premier alinéa est également applicable à la contestation de la décision d’assignation à résidence notifiée postérieurement à la décision d’éloignement, alors même que la légalité de cette dernière a été confirmée par le juge administratif ou ne peut plus être contestée.
Les dispositions des articles L. 614-7 à L. 614-13 sont applicables au jugement de la décision d’assignation à résidence contestée en application du présent article.
