Article L733-2 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

The administrative authority may, for the purposes of preparing the foreign national’s departure, designate to him or her, taking into account the imperatives of private and family life, a time slot during which he or she remains in the premises where he or she resides, up to a limit of three consecutive hours per twenty-four hour period.
When the foreign national assigned to residence is the subject of a deportation order, a French territory ban or an administrative French territory ban, or if his or her behaviour constitutes a threat to public order, the duration of this time slot may be extended to ten consecutive hours per twenty-four hour period.

Article L733-2

L’autorité administrative peut, aux fins de préparation du départ de l’étranger, lui désigner, en tenant compte des impératifs de la vie privée et familiale, une plage horaire pendant laquelle il demeure dans les locaux où il réside, dans la limite de trois heures consécutives par période de vingt-quatre heures.
Lorsque l’étranger assigné à résidence fait l’objet d’une décision d’expulsion, d’une peine d’interdiction du territoire français ou d’une décision d’interdiction administrative du territoire français, ou si son comportement constitue une menace pour l’ordre public, la durée de cette plage horaire peut être portée à dix heures consécutives par période de vingt-quatre heures.
