Article R121-5-1 of the French Sports Code

If the activities of the sports association or the manner in which it pursues them fail to comply with the commitments set out in the Republican Commitment Contract it has signed, the Prefect of the département in which the association’s registered office is located will suspend or withdraw approval, depending on the seriousness of the breach.

Suspension will be for a period of six months. It may be terminated early if the association provides proof that it is once again complying with the Republican Commitment Contract. If, at the end of the suspension, the sports association has still not complied with the undertakings whose non-compliance justified the suspension, the Prefect of the département in which the association’s registered office is located will withdraw the authorisation.

The measures provided for in this article are taken after the sports association has been given the opportunity to present its observations.

Si les activités de l’association sportive ou les modalités selon lesquelles elle les poursuit méconnaissent les engagements du contrat d’engagement républicain qu’elle a souscrit, le préfet du département de son siège procède, en fonction de la gravité du manquement, à la suspension ou au retrait de l’agrément.

La suspension est prononcée pour une durée de six mois. Il peut y être mis fin avant son terme si l’association apporte la preuve qu’elle respecte à nouveau le contrat d’engagement républicain. Si, au terme de la suspension, l’association sportive ne respecte toujours pas les engagements dont le non-respect a justifié la suspension, le préfet du département de son siège procède au retrait de l’agrément.

Les mesures prévues au présent article sont prises après que l’association sportive a été mise en mesure de présenter des observations.
