Five copies of the application for authorisation or renewal of the authorisation must be sent by registered post with acknowledgement of receipt to the Director General of the Regional Health Agency. It may also be submitted against a receipt. Applications for renewal of the authorisation must be sent to the Director General of the Regional Health Agency seven months before the expiry date of the authorisation.
The application for authorisation or renewal of authorisation will only be considered and forwarded to the Director General of the Agence de la biomédecine for an opinion if it is accompanied by a complete file, the model for which is defined by order of the Minister for Health. This file must include information relating to the organisation of the retrieval activity and show the applicant’s commitments regarding the number and qualifications of the necessary staff.
The application is deemed to be complete if, within one month of receipt, the Director General of the Regional Health Agency has not informed the applicant, by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt, of the list of missing or incomplete documents.
Failure by the Director General of the Biomedicine Agency to respond within three months will be deemed to constitute a favourable opinion.
For the purposes of the investigation, the Director General of the Regional Health Agency may carry out or arrange for any investigation to be carried out and request any additional documents.
