Article R175-4 of the French Insurance Code

The insurance policy is dated the day it is drawn up.

It shall state:

a) The place of subscription;

b) The names and domiciles of the contracting parties, with an indication, where applicable, that the party taking out the insurance is acting on behalf of a third party;

c) The object or interest insured;

d) The risks insured against or the risks excluded;

e) The time and place of these risks;

f) The sum insured;

g) The premium.

La police d’assurance est datée du jour où elle est établie.


Elle indique :


a) Le lieu de souscription ;


b) Le nom et le domicile des parties contractantes, avec l’indication, le cas échéant, que celui qui fait assurer agit pour le compte d’autrui ;


c) La chose ou l’intérêt assuré ;


d) Les risques assurés ou les risques exclus ;


e) Le temps et le lieu de ces risques ;


f) La somme assurée ;


g) La prime.
