Article R211-43 of the French Insurance Code

In the event of a medical examination being carried out with a view to the offer of compensation referred to in article L. 211-9, the insurer or its agent shall notify the victim, at least fifteen days before the examination, of the identity and qualifications of the doctor responsible for carrying it out, the purpose, date and place of the examination and the name of the insurer on whose behalf it is being carried out. At the same time, he will inform the victim that he may be assisted by a doctor of his choice.

En cas d’examen médical pratiqué en vue de l’offre d’indemnité mentionnée à l’article L. 211-9, l’assureur ou son mandataire avise la victime, quinze jours au moins avant l’examen, de l’identité et des titres du médecin chargé d’y procéder, de l’objet, de la date et du lieu de l’examen, ainsi que du nom de l’assureur pour le compte duquel il est fait. Il informe en même temps la victime qu’elle peut se faire assister d’un médecin de son choix.
