A polling station is set up to oversee all electoral operations and the counting of votes. In particular, it shall ensure:
1° The implementation of security measures designed to guarantee the secrecy and integrity of the vote;
2° The confidentiality of voters’ files containing information enabling them to be identified, the encryption of electronic ballot boxes and the separation of electronic ballot boxes and voters’ files;
3° The preservation of the various data media and the conditions of data security and confidentiality during and after the vote.
The polling station verifies the status of the persons authorised to access each of the automated processes. The members of the polling station may access at any time the premises housing the automated processing as well as the storage areas for postal vote envelopes.
In the event of force majeure, computer malfunction, technical failure or alteration of data, the polling station is competent to take, after consulting the technical committee referred to in article R. 2122-58, any information and safeguard measures, including the temporary or definitive stoppage of the electoral process. Any intervention in the voting system is recorded in the voting minutes and the delegates referred to in article R. 2122-59 are informed. At the close of the vote, the minutes of the voting operations are drawn up by the secretary of the polling station. It is drawn up in duplicate and signed by all the members of the polling station.
