Article R2213-25-1 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

I.-Prior to being placed on the market, an accredited body checks that the coffin fitted with a watertight bowl complies with the characteristics mentioned in article R. 2213-25. This body will issue a certificate of conformity.

II.
II -An order by the ministers responsible for health and the environment, issued after consultation with the Agence nationale de sécurité sanitaire de l’alimentation, de l’environnement et du travail and the Conseil national des opérations funéraires, sets out the procedures for the checks provided for in I.

III -The body referred to in I. will issue a certificate of compliance.
III.-The body referred to in I shall be accredited by the French Accreditation Committee or by any other accreditation body that is a signatory to a multilateral mutual recognition agreement concluded within the framework of the European coordination of accreditation bodies.

I.-Avant la mise sur le marché, un organisme accrédité vérifie que le cercueil muni d’une cuvette d’étanchéité respecte les caractéristiques mentionnées à l’article R. 2213-25. Cet organisme délivre une attestation de conformité.

II.-Un arrêté des ministres chargés de la santé et de l’environnement, pris après avis de l’Agence nationale de sécurité sanitaire de l’alimentation, de l’environnement et du travail et du Conseil national des opérations funéraires, fixe les modalités de la vérification prévue au I.

III.-L’organisme mentionné au I est accrédité par le Comité français d’accréditation ou par tout autre organisme d’accréditation signataire d’un accord de reconnaissance mutuelle multilatéral pris dans le cadre de la coordination européenne des organismes d’accréditation.
