Article R2241-6 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

For real estate acquisitions made in administrative form by municipalities and their public establishments, a deposit may be paid to the seller, upon expiry of the time periods open for taking registrations with retroactive effect, up to a maximum of three quarters of the difference between the stipulated price and that of the charges and accessories.

This deposit is paid after authorisation by the authority authorised to receive the administrative deed.

Pour les acquisitions immobilières passées en la forme administrative par les communes et leurs établissements publics, il peut être payé au vendeur, dès l’expiration des délais ouverts pour prendre les inscriptions ayant un effet rétroactif, un acompte dans la limite maximum des trois quarts de la différence entre le prix stipulé et celui des charges et accessoires.

Cet acompte est payé après autorisation de l’autorité habilitée à recevoir l’acte administratif.
