Article R271 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

Article R. 48 shall read as follows:

“Art. R. 48.-The officer responsible for recovering fines shall proceed with recovery of the criminal order on expiry of the thirty-day period from the date of dispatch of the registered letter provided for in article R. 42, paragraph 1, or, if the accused resides on an island that is not served by a regular postal service, on the expiry of the period of sixty days from the notification by the administrative or military authority provided for by Article R. 42, paragraph 2, unless an objection is lodged. “

L’article R. 48 est rédigé comme suit :

” Art. R. 48.-L’agent chargé du recouvrement des amendes procède au recouvrement de l’ordonnance pénale à l’expiration du délai de trente jours à compter de la date d’envoi de la lettre recommandée prévue à l’article R. 42, alinéa 1, ou, si le prévenu réside dans une île qui n’est pas desservie par un service régulier des postes, à l’expiration du délai de soixante jours à compter de la notification par l’autorité administrative ou militaire prévue par l’article R. 42, alinéa 2, à moins qu’il ne soit fait opposition. “
