The conditions necessary for the application of the process mentioned in article R. 414-5 are as follows:
1° Before irradiating a certain category of foodstuffs, determination of the dose distribution curves and the positions of the minimum and maximum doses;
2° During irradiation, routine dosimetric measurements on each batch so as to ensure that the dose limits are not exceeded;
3° Continuous monitoring and recording of the process parameters, as regards both the radionuclides and the particle accelerator.
An order of the ministers responsible for consumer affairs, agriculture and industry defines the procedures for carrying out the measurements provided for in 1° and 2° as well as the nature of the process parameters mentioned in 3°.
