Article R421-69 of the French Insurance Code

The guarantee fund shall reimburse the French central office, on behalf of the French State, the sums owed by the latter for accidents for which it is liable in the countries mentioned in the first paragraph of article L. 211-4. An agreement entered into by the State with the guarantee fund and the French central office, and approved by order of the Minister for the Economy and Finance, sets out the conditions for the application of this article, in particular the procedures for reimbursing these sums to the guarantee fund.

Le fonds de garantie rembourse au bureau central français pour le compte de l’Etat les sommes dues par celui-ci pour les accidents dont il est responsable dans les pays mentionnés au premier alinéa de l’article L. 211-4. Une convention passée par l’Etat avec le fonds de garantie et le bureau central français, et approuvée par arrêté du ministre de l’économie et des finances, fixe les conditions d’application du présent article, notamment les modalités de remboursement de ces sommes au fonds de garantie.
