The financial and accounting operations of the Fonds national de garantie des calamités agricoles are carried out by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Caisse centrale de réassurance, assisted by a commission comprising three representatives of the Minister for the Economy and Finance and three representatives of the Minister for Agriculture.
As part of these operations, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Caisse Centrale de Réassurance :
Provides the Commission Nationale des Calamités Agricoles, at its request, with the accounting and financial information required to carry out its duties;
Approves the fund’s accounts for the previous financial year;
Submits a report on the operations of the said financial year to the Minister of the Economy and Finance and the Minister of Agriculture, as well as to the National Commission for Agricultural Disasters;
Proposes, where appropriate, that legal action be taken against claimants who have wrongly received compensation, or against third parties responsible for the disaster, and takes the necessary steps to recover said compensation or sums due from responsible third parties, after obtaining the opinion of the Minister for the Economy and Finance.
