Article R6123-210 of the French Public Health Code

Authorisation for “bariatric surgery” may only be granted if the holder has access, where applicable by agreement or as part of the shared medical project of the regional hospital grouping referred to in II of Article L. 6132-1, to the following facilities to enable patients to be treated within a timeframe that is compatible with the safety of treatment:

” 1° An intensive care unit;

” 2° A technical platform for performing interventional endoscopies;

“3° A CT scanner suitable for treating patients suffering from severe obesity twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

L’autorisation sous la modalité ” chirurgie bariatrique ” ne peut être délivrée que si le titulaire dispose, le cas échéant par convention ou dans le cadre du projet médical partagé du groupement hospitalier de territoire mentionné au II de l’article L. 6132-1, d’un accès permettant la prise en charge dans un délai compatible avec la sécurité des prises en charge, à :

” 1° Une unité de réanimation ;

” 2° Un plateau technique permettant la réalisation d’endoscopies interventionnelles ;

” 3° Un scanographe adapté à la prise en charge des patients atteints d’obésité sévère vingt-quatre heures sur vingt-quatre, sept jours sur sept.
