Section X: Special provisions applicable to mining-related property damage

Article R421-73 of the French Insurance Code

Owners liable to benefit from the provisions of article L. 421-17 must submit a claim for compensation to the guarantee fund by registered letter or electronic registered mail, return receipt requested, within six months of the date on which the damage occurred. However, for losses that occurred between 1 September 1998 and 23 April 2004, the six-month period only runs from the latter date.
