The project owner designs and builds the buildings and their fittings in such a way that they comply with the lighting rules set out in articles R. 4223-2 to R. 4223-11.
Buildings are designed and laid out in such a way that natural light can be used to light workplaces, except where the technical nature of the activities prevents this.
Premises intended to be used for work must have transparent windows at eye level giving onto the outside, unless this is incompatible with the nature of the planned activities.
In an instruction manual sent to the employer, the project owner will set out the minimum lighting levels during working periods in the premises, clearances and areas, as well as the information needed for the employer to determine the rules for maintaining the equipment.
Premises in which work equipment likely to expose workers to a daily noise exposure level of more than 85 dB(A) is to be installed must be designed, built or fitted out, taking into account the state of the art, in such a way as to : 1° Reduce the reverberation of noise on the walls of these premises when this reverberation causes a significant increase in the level of exposure…
A joint order of the ministers responsible for labour, agriculture and construction shall determine the technical requirements necessary for the application of this section.
The equipment and characteristics of the work premises are designed to allow the temperature to be adapted to the human body during working time, taking into account the working methods and physical stresses borne by the workers.
The equipment and characteristics of rooms ancillary to workplaces, in particular sanitary, catering and medical rooms, are designed to allow the temperature to be adapted to the specific purpose of these rooms.
The provisions of this section are without prejudice to those of Articles L. 171-1 and L. 173-1 of the French Construction and Housing Code relating to the thermal characteristics of buildings other than dwellings.
