Work in a hyperbaric environment cannot be carried out by a single person without supervision.
In application of the regulatory provisions which apply to his establishment, set out in Article R. 4461-6, the employer shall adapt the composition of the intervention or work team according to the nature and extent of the risk.
The employer shall ensure that the methods and conditions of intervention and performance of the work are recorded in each worker’s individual hyperbaric logbook, as referred to in Article R. 4461-10.
Teams carrying out work in a hyperbaric environment, as referred to in 2° of Article R. 4461-1, are made up of at least two people: 1° An operator working in a hyperbaric environment who holds a hyperbaric fitness certificate; 2° A supervisor, trained to provide first aid in the event of an emergency, who ensures the safety of workers working in a hyperbaric environment from a suitable location subject to…
During an intervention in a hyperbaric environment, workers may alternate between different functions within the team, provided that they have the skills and aptitudes required in accordance with 1° of Article R. 4461-7.

The work in hyperbaric environments referred to in 1° of Article R. 4461-1 may only be carried out by companies which have obtained a certificate issued by a certification body accredited under the conditions of Article R. 4724-1.
Temporary employment undertakings which provide workers to carry out the work referred to in Article R. 4461-43 are subject to the obligations set out in that same article.

The employer shall appoint, from among the workers referred to in Article R. 4451-45, a hyperbaric operations manager who shall be responsible, on site and under the employer’s responsibility, for coordinating the team as regards hyperbaric safety.
