Chapter III: REPUBLICAN INTEGRATION

In the country of origin, the State provides foreign nationals wishing to settle permanently in France with information, in a language they understand, on life in France and the rights and duties associated with it.

Foreign nationals admitted to reside in France for the first time or who enter France legally between the ages of sixteen and eighteen, and who wish to remain in the country for the long term, must commit to a personalised republican integration programme. A foreign national who has not signed the republican integration contract provided for in the second paragraph of article L. 413-2 when first admitted to reside in France may ask to sign it at a later date under conditions defined by regulation.
