Section 3: Payment of the allowance

Asylum seeker’s allowance is paid monthly, in arrears, by crediting a cash withdrawal or payment card, on the basis of the transmission provided for in article D. 553-21.On a transitional basis or by derogation, particularly in overseas departments, the allowance may be paid by transfer to the beneficiary’s bank account.

The services and payment agency is responsible, on behalf of the French Office for Immigration and Integration, for paying the allowance to beneficiaries whose eligibility has been determined in advance by the Office.

Each transmission of information from the Office français de l’immigration et de l’intégration to the services and payment agency gives rise to a return flow to the office, to confirm the correct integration of the data.

Once the Office Français de l’Immigration et de l’Intégration has received the funds and the payment order, the service and payment agency either transfers the funds to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts or issues the payment order for the withdrawal or payment cards issued to recipients by the Office. .

Payment of the allowance ceases in the following cases:1° At the end of the periods provided for in article L. 551-13, under the conditions provided for in the same article;2° When the foreign national’s right to maintenance has ended in application of b or d of 1° of article L. 542-2, under the conditions provided for in article L. 551-14;3° As of the date on which the asylum application certificate…

Without prejudice to the provisions of article L. 551-14, the invalidity of the asylum application certificate will result in the suspension of entitlement to the allowance, unless it is attributable to the administration.
