Article 723 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The sentenced person admitted to the benefit of work release is required, under the supervision of the administration, to carry out activities outside the prison establishment.

The semi-liberty regime is defined by Article 132-26 of the Penal Code.

A decree determines the conditions under which these various measures are granted and applied.

Le condamné admis au bénéfice du placement à l’extérieur est astreint, sous le contrôle de l’administration, à exercer des activités en dehors de l’établissement pénitentiaire.

Le régime de semi-liberté est défini par l’article 132-26 du code pénal.
