Article 728-14 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The transmission of the sentencing decision, the request for transit, the certificate and all documents relating to the enforcement of the sentence as well as any exchange relating thereto shall be carried out directly, as the case may be, with the competent authorities of the sentencing State or those of the executing State, by any means that leaves a written record and under conditions that enable the addressee to verify the authenticity of the documents transmitted.

La transmission de la décision de condamnation, de la demande de transit, du certificat et de toutes les pièces relatives à l’exécution de la condamnation ainsi que tout échange relatif à celle-ci s’effectuent directement, selon le cas, avec les autorités compétentes de l’Etat de condamnation ou celles de l’Etat d’exécution, par tout moyen laissant une trace écrite et dans des conditions permettant au destinataire de vérifier l’authenticité des pièces transmises.
